Pharoah Chromium, named after a song by the band Chrome, is a project by German-Palestinian musician and sonic performer Ghazi Barakat. He has released albums on labels such as Grautag, Deep Distance and Labelle69 and has collaborated with Günter Schickert, Vincent Epplay and Osman Arabi among others.

The material included on this tape is based on a live Korg MS-20 recording session for his 2016’s “Gaza” album, a sonic deconstruction of the war waged in the summer of 2014 in Palestine. In the beginning of 2017 Barakat added layers of a woodwind instrument, the rauschpfeife. These recordings stem from an admiration for Japanese artists C.C.C.C. and deceased saxophone player Kaoru Abe.
