Un Ent Los is a composition of a total of 36 electroacoustic miniatures, for which Johannes S. Sistermanns has drawn from his wide-ranging audio archive.

The material of his composed, fleeting sound moments are sounds of the numerous musical instruments he plays and their electroacoustic transformation. In addition, field recordings from the Australian outback and the soundscapes of metropolises such as Shanghai, Hong Kong or New York can be heard, as well as the diverse resonance sounds that Sistermann calls "space sounds", which he has collected through the use of his voice in places all over the world.

Un Ent Los also features collaborations with cellist Andi Otto and Australian author and artist Linda Marie Walker, with whom Sistermanns has already collaborated on radiofone radio play productions.

The title-giving play on words "Un Ent Los" resonates with the endless or infinite. In addition, Sistermanns would like the prefix "UN" to be associated with the idea of UNpredictability and UNconcludability; the middle syllable "Ent" with the idea of DE coupling. A DEcoupling that the composer pursues in his own work as a LOS/LESS solution from the history of compositional ideas and would like to offer on the part of the listener as a liberation from a listening expectation that has been shaped by theory, form and habit.
