"David Toop and Avsluta are friends, collaborators and occasional co-performers in various constellations. This live recording from their 2021 set at Next Festival in Cafe OTO is from their first concert together following a pandemic-enforced pause, and provides a glimpse of their mystical practice of object-oriented improvisation and sonic dialogue. On a blog post from late November 2021, David Toop recalls how he utilised a gift from Ecka Mordecai – a collection of eggflutes – in several conce…
*300 copies limited release* For It Deel II the Kleefstra Bros have collaborated with the Norwegian duo Espen Reinersen and Einvind Lønning (who also collaborate as duo Streifenjunko). Ten years ago the Kleefstra Bros saw Streifenjunko perform at Worm, Rotterdam, and this always stuck in memory. This is why now for It Deel II they got together. The music by Reinersen and Lønning, with the use of wind instruments and electronics, is experimental, but open. It finds a way between improv, jazz and …

*2023 stock. 150 copies limited edition* Body of Reverbs is a performative sound-art collective project focusing on the tattoo practice – created and curated by Michele Servadio. Its intent is – through the live sound manipulation of the performance – to develop a new language and override the canonic tattoo imagery, and to ultimately give back a deeper, cathartic meaning that will resonate (or rather: reverb) both on the subject and the audience. Abandoning all the aesthetic dogmas, the tattoo …

Tender Membranes is the the label’s first release from Swedish-Finnish sound artist and electro-acoustic composer Marja Ahti. Cheryl E. Leonard builds and plays electroacoustic instruments made out of natural materials such as bones, driftwood, shells, seaweed, feathers, and stones. Jon Leidecker (aka 'Wobbly') responds to the sounds of her creations with synthesized animal voices driven by machine listening. The inaugural collaboration of these two veterans of the San Francisco Bay Area electronic music scene can be heard on the album Multiple Park, a collection of works assembled from both studio and outdoor performa…
*2023 stock* "Peanuts" is a mixture of location recordings and percussion, and can be seen as a continuation of the music Jazkamer explored on the albums "Timex" (2000) and "Pancakes" (2002); carefully construced transparent sound-surfaces. One track also features turntable surface crackle, which could bring the listener's thoughts back to the "Turntable Surface Fireball" LP (2001). Although "Peanuts" is not a noise record, it could hardly be called ambient music. It might work well as backgroun…
In 2018, New York based composer and improviser Lucie Vítková made recordings in caves in the Czech Republic and an abandoned Gothic church in Slovakia. Their album Cave Acoustics combines a beguiling exploration of the physicality and acoustics of these unique locations with profoundly personal themes of family legacy and roots. Lucie performed with their sisters in Výpustek Cave – an underground system of tunnels and former Soviet-era bunker. The choreography-based piece creates crescendos of …

Active in visual arts for the past decade or so, Kirwan has recently begun recording noise using field recordings, found objects, feedback and tape manipulation. I started working on this new solo in the spring of 2020. Mostly outdoors, as I couldn't work at home. The idea caught on and I presented a first version of the project in a forest in the Lot region (South-West of France), during the Concerts Dispersés series in August 2020. I have continued to play concerts, keeping in mind the idea of playing as much as possible outside the usual music venues, in spaces with remarkable acoustics. That's how I came up with the idea of Le Bargy: to present music…

"Beginning in 2022, I started to process those layered, dense, dry, and beyond-words matters in the form of a voice diary. Gradually, I gathered a collection of 100 modulated voice recordings that were sealed on 50 cassette players. In June, these cassette players were set in my solo exhibition "100 Shits"(一百天的訴辯) staged at Hallucination in Kaohsiung. It allowed the audience to select how they would like the tapes to play. The exhibition also included a musical work entitled "A Cappella," which …
