A Falling Sound
"A recording of a piano tuning session was the starting point for a series of different pieces, all of which question the experience of measurement. These two pieces, "about a thousand years" and "a falling sound", for piano and cello, are a new stage in this process. If the music results from a work of measurement - that of the piano as a territory and of its different acoustic regions, both the voice of Pandit Prân Nath, which gave rise to the playing and scordatura of the cello, and the bass …

Decomposition Study
Decomposition Study is a collaborative process. The instrument featured here is an arciorgano, a special microtonal organo di legno with two manually operated bellows and 36-key octaves across two manuals, constructed according to Nicola Vicentino’s designs from 1555. The notes of the music, written according to the rules of canonic contrapunto alla mente, are passed between two organists while four other musicians disrupt and amplify the organ’s airflow, acting similarly to cellular enzymes in …
Le secret
Cyril Bondi wondered and researched about the process of choice in the making of a bells set for cows herd in the swiss mountains. It revealed to be pretty subjective, mixing parameters of sonic efficiency, financial and social reasons, and sometimes a slight touch of musicality, all of these clotted by the notion of "secret". Later he and d'incise spend a cold winter day into a thousand pieces collection of bells, picking a few sets regarding their own principles and finality.
Acceleration
The Insub Meta orchestra (IMO) is a large ensemble gathered around the experimental and electroacoustic practice. It was founded in 2010 by the Cyril Bondi and d’incise duo. It consists of about fifty permanent members that form the thirty international musicians present at each concert. Born from questionings on improvisation in a large group, the IMO built with time a strong collective and typical background where the individual gesture get lost in the production of global sonic states. Thus su…
Delve II
*Last copy remaning at source* Fredrik Rasten (born 1988) is a guitarist and composer based in Oslo and Berlin. He is primarily focusing on musical exploration of just intonation and related sound phenomena, and in his work he is reaching for an actively listening state wherein to intuitively explore the complexities of tone and harmony. On the guitar he is applying real time retuning of the instrument, vocal shadings and different preparations to create warm and fluctuating resonances. As a com…
καῦμα (kaûma)
"The word καῦμα (kaûma) gave us the "calm" losing its primary sens of "heat". Here an archaic experimental music, a more or less advanced electronic technology with questionable sustainability, false loops, oscillations and glidings, between immutable harmonic series and dubious Chinese components. If "kaûma" also gives "chômer" ("not to work") (from occitan "caumar", "to rest during the heat"), another warming would call to disturb the calm, the pattern, to come out of our torpor (κῶμα, kôma ("…
LP2
The sophomore release from vocalist Theo Bleckmann and electronic musician & producer Joseph Branciforte, LP2 is a follow-up, companion piece, and elegant evolution of the shared musical language first developed on the duo’s debut, 2019’s LP1. Branciforte & Bleckmann return with a meticulously crafted album of even greater scope and complexity, further dissolving the boundaries between improvisation & composition, live performance & studio production, human & machine-generated sound. The duo has…
Altars
*2023 stock* A cycle of primitive and ethereal.Building monoliths as Altars. A Hearth. The main centre of these pieces are weathered landscapes, crumbling rocks, erosion eating away at stones, chaos of overgrowth, the deep time of constant crumbling and occlusion. Passage of storms, rebuilding of momentum, weathered souls.A cyclical altar, an eroded homecoming.A lyrical desolation. From the artist: "The narrative of the entire record is loosely based on the concept of deep time, a temporal scale …

Ángeles originally caught our attention via the TVL …
Music for Sixth-tone Harmonium
Composers Fredrik Rasten and Ian Mikyska present new compositions for Alois Hába’s unique sixth-tone harmonium, performed by Miroslav Beinhauer, who has single-handedly revived the instrument after decades of slumber. Alois Hába, Czech composer and pioneer of microtonal music, commissioned a number of microtonal instruments in the 1920s and '30s, including the sixth-tone harmonium, two of which were built. Hába himself wrote only one solo piece for this instrument, and also included a part for i…
I want / I have to share my life with you
*40 copies ultra limited edition* Eight-channel sound installation. Voice, three machine learning algorithms. In 2020 with my colleagues we’ve started EOLA - an Experimental Opera Laboratory where we use different machine learning algorithms and hours of my voice data to create a new experimental opera. This fact made me think not only about future of music in general but particularly how the relationships between artist and instrument going to develop. In ancient times humans used to inspirit an…

Black Tupelo
Alex York’s Black Tupelo comments on the obscured line between American folk music and spiritual minimalism. Through sampling across analog and digital media, including vinyl, cassettes, and YouTube, Black Tupelo derives all its sonic material from recordings of Powers / Rolin Duo. In the past, York has primarily sampled jazz musicians, but gravitates towards acoustic drones on this record, which lend to collage and layering. In approaching these samples, York was inspired by a Roscoe Mitchell l…
Density Dots
*200 copies limited edition* Impetus Group is Dirk Serries’ big band formation. The band name naturally refers to the Latin meaning: urgency, driving force, but even more spiritually to the moving language and strength of each musician in the ensemble to realize this free improvisational music. Impetus group is also a tribute to the improvisation scene of the sixties and seventies, more specifically the London scene led by guitarist Derek Bailey with his Company group. The group has a fluctuatin…
Earthworks
Following 'Gargoyles' and 'Light Industry', Colin Webster and Dirk Serries recorded their third studio album at the Sunny Side Inc. Studio in May 2022.  With Colin on the baritone, the pressure is high.  Carefully selected from a way longer session, this shorter album is just that : full-on free interaction with no boundaries hold, spiced by the friendship of both musicians and the respect for each other' skills and approaches.
Abel/Kane
*200 copies limited edition* After having painted her own mythology out of antique myths and literature, Golem Mecanique began to work on biblical features. The vehicle is minimalist. The challenge, to go further with the instrument and the voice. For this album, Golem’s work focused in on a sound that enabled the abstract concept of Abel and Cain to become concrete, yet still built out of nothingness. Abel/Kane was composed as two acts of a march into a never-ending valley. Drone, voices, echoe…
