Sophie Delafontaine studied acousmatic composition at the Conservatoire royal de Mons / Arts2 - École supérieure des arts (Mons, Belgium) with Annette Vande Gorne, Philippe Mion, and Ingrid Drese. She obtained her master’s degree in 2014. In her practice of composition, Delafontaine likes to recover, recycle, and renew her sonic materials. Her acousmatic works are strongly influenced by her creations for dance and the theatre. She draws inspiration from the ambience, atmospheres, texts, stories and characters found in the various shows for which she makes music. Among her works we remember «Ondiésop» (2015), «Respire marche pars va-t-en» (2013), «Dormir, aujourd’hui» (2018), «Ressort spiral» (2014-16), «Creux-du-Van» (2014) and «Tout ça à cause de Junon» (2013). Accord ouvert is her first music release and comes on the prestigious Empreintes DIGITALes label.
