The second chapter of Gong's Radio Gnome Invisible trilogy, first released in 1973, remastered from the original BYG tapes and cut at half-speed by Lewis Hopkin, in a gatefold sleeve with a 16-page booklet replicating Daevid Allen's guide to the saga.

LP version. The second chapter in Gong’s legendary Radio Gnome Invisible trilogy, Angel’s Egg takes the story deeper into the surreal, otherworldly universe first introduced on Flying Teapot. Originally released in 1973, the album follows the continuing adventures of Zero the Hero and the Pot Head Pixies, expanding Daevid Allen’s visionary mythology into an even more ambitious world of flying teapots, cosmic transmissions, spiritual awakening, and playful rebellion.

Musically, Angel’s Egg pushes Gong’s unique fusion of psychedelic rock, progressive experimentation, jazz improvisation, and anarchic humour into new territory. With its hypnotic grooves, swirling synthesizers, gliding guitars, saxophone excursions, and eccentric vocal characters, the album moves effortlessly between the playful and the profound. Featuring cult favourites including “Other Side of the Sky,” “Oily Way,” “Flute Salad,” and “You Can’t Kill Me,” it captures Gong’s classic line-up at their most imaginative, adventurous, and otherworldly.

Remastered from the original BYG Records tapes and cut at half-speed at the UK’s world-famous Stardelta Studios by Grammy Award-winning mastering engineer Lewis Hopkin, this deluxe reissue delivers the album with exceptional depth, clarity, and detail. The LP is housed in a faithful reproduction of the original gatefold sleeve, while the CD edition recreates the gatefold artwork in a special deluxe format. Both editions include a 16-page booklet faithfully replicating Daevid Allen’s original 1973 guide to the characters, stories and mythology of the Radio Gnome Invisible saga.

Recorded by the Manor Mobile at the Pavillon du Hay in France in August 1973 and first issued that December, Angel's Egg features the classic line-up under its Radio Gnome pseudonyms: Daevid Allen (Dingo Virgin) on guitar and vocals, Gilli Smyth (Shakti Yoni) on space whisper, Didier Malherbe (Bloomdido Bad De Grass) on saxophones and flute, Tim Blake (Hi T. Moonweed) on synthesizer, Steve Hillage on guitar, Mike Howlett (Mr T. Being) on bass and Pierre Moerlen (Pierre de Strasbourg) on drums, marimba and vibraphone, with Mireille Bauer on glockenspiel, produced under the direction of Giorgio Gomelsky.
