The only album released in 1977 by Fujimaru Band, led by guitarist Fujimaru Yoshino, who played guitar on numerous classic hits, including “Momen no Handkerchief” and “Amagi-goe.” Long cherished by music fans as a masterpiece of rare groove known to a select few, the album has recently been rediscovered, particularly overseas, surpassing 9 million streams. Following strong demand for a reissue, this long-awaited release marks its first-ever color vinyl edition, pressed on uncolored virgin vinyl.
Yoshino plays electric and folk guitar and sings, with Masao Nakajima on all keyboards and arrangement, Kazuyoshi Watanabe on electric bass and Junichi Kanazawa on drums and percussion. The horns, arranged by Norio Maeda, are Jiro Inagaki on soprano and tenor saxophone and flute, Tadayuki Harada on baritone saxophone, Tetsuo Fushimi and Takehisa Suzuki on trumpet and Kazuo Usui on trombone.
Japanese reissue by King Records for the Sound Fuji archive project, Pure Vinyl edition. Newly cut from a 96kHz/24bit transfer of the original master tapes. Sleeve, obi and liner notes follow the original edition. Originally released June 21st 1977 (SKA-1009).
