Drummer and percussionist Sofia Borges and saxophonist Yedo Gibson in a tense, searching duo recorded in Lisbon: objects, prepared sounds and tenor and soprano lines in improvisations built on texture, pressure and close listening.

Sofia Borges and Yedo Gibson make the duo format feel wonderfully unstable, treating space less as an opening than as something to be prodded, split, and reconfigured in real time. Borges works with a sharply detailed palette of percussion, objects, and prepared sound while Gibson answers with saxophone lines that can turn from dry and probing to bright and full bodied in an instant. The result is a tense, searching set of improvisations that favors texture, pressure, and close listening over easy release, with every sound carrying the weight of a fresh decision.

Sofia Borges: drums, percussion. Yedo Gibson: tenor and soprano saxophones.

Music by Sofia Borges (GEMA) and Yedo Gibson. Recorded on August 8, 2024 at Namouche Studios Lisboa. Recording Engineer: Joaquim Monte. Mixing: João Borges, Hal5 Studio. Mastering: Alexis Baskind. Artwork: Sofia Borges.
