The live farewell of Belgian ensemble X-Legged Sally, recorded at the Cactus Club in Bruges in April 1996 for Radio 1: Peter Vermeersch's knotty pieces for horns, guitar and keyboards played with full concert energy.

X-Legged Sally, the Belgian group founded in 1988 by composer Peter Vermeersch, ended its run with a farewell concert at the Cactus Club in Bruges in April 1996. The show was recorded by Radio 1 and released as Fired. It works as a summary of the band's years, with pieces such as Zippo Raid, The Shah Of Blah, Bleedproof and Nullo Problemo taken from its studio albums and dance scores.

On stage the band numbered around ten: Vermeersch on clarinet, Peter Vervloesem on guitar, Peter Vandenberghe on keyboards, Paul Belgrado on bass, Danny Van Hoeck on drums, Michel Mast on saxophones, Bart Maris on trumpet and Eric Sleichim guesting on alto saxophone, with Thierry Mondelaers singing. The arrangements are dense and full of sudden turns between brass riffs, noisy guitar and lyrical passages. Live, the music sounds heavier and looser than on the studio records.

Japanese CD reissue by Belle Antique in a paper sleeve with obi, an 8-page folded booklet and a Japanese folded insert, SHM-CD, remastered.
