The 1993 album by Belgian avant-jazz-rock ensemble X-Legged Sally, led by composer Peter Vermeersch and produced in Brooklyn by Bill Laswell: short, sharp pieces for horns, clarinet, guitar and keyboards, plus a 1996 live bonus.

X-Legged Sally was founded in Belgium in 1988 by composer and clarinettist Peter Vermeersch, and much of its music was written for the dance productions of Wim Vandekeybus. Killed By Charity was recorded and mixed in July 1993 at Greenpoint Studio in Brooklyn with Bill Laswell producing, as he had for the earlier Slow-Up, and the two records brought the band an audience outside Belgium.

The line-up includes Pierre Vervloesem on guitar, Jean-Luc Plouvier on keyboards, Paul Belgrado on bass, Danny Van Hoeck on drums, Michel Mast on saxophone and Bart Maris on trumpet. Most tracks are brief and tightly arranged, mixing jazz brass voicings, angular rock guitar, abrupt stops and a taste for the absurd. A cover of The Look Of Love sits among originals such as Bleedproof and The Shah Of Blah.

A live version of Bleedproof from 1996 closes the disc as a bonus track.

Japanese CD reissue by Belle Antique in a gatefold cardboard mini LP sleeve with obi, SHM-CD, remastered, with one bonus track.
