Original first 12"EP on Contempo by acclaimed electronic post-punk band from Perugia.

condition (record/cover): NM / VG+
Born in 1982 in Perugia from the remains of the post-punk project Lo Noize, Militia were Dario Bavicchi (keyboards, electronics, guitar, vocals), Fabrizio Croce (vocals, electronics, rhythms), Giovanni Romualdi (guitar) and Andrea Conversano (bass). Although the future of the members is studded with important collaborations: Blaine Reininger, Chris Karrer, Nobukazu Takemura etc.) and numerous theatrical and experimental projects, it is important to start from this their first and almost only recording. The historical triptych “Echi”, “Ritmi”, “In Trionfo” "shows a theatrical lyrical force that goes beyond the simple deconstruction of the song, its mutant folk-rock rhythms, its broken synths, to transport us to an urban sky without references, saturated with sick electricity."

Contempo Records operated as a home for Italian acts working this harder-edged territory, releasing music too aggressive for mainstream new wave but too structured for pure noise. The title's Nordic spelling hints at the pan-European influences at play - German industrial, Belgian body music, Scandinavian cold wave all feeding into something distinctly Italian.
