2008 release ** "Maurizio Bianchi's second artistic season continues to be enriched with new releases, often the result of collaborations with other authors, as in the case of "Alienation", a work performed together with Claudio Rocchetti, a skilled audio manipulator with an evident interest in the analog sounds of the past. In line with other recent products by Maurizio, this album also has its fulcrum in an interiority that explodes towards the surrounding world through electronic and abstract motifs. Five states of mind are translated into as many sound journeys, marked by a metallic frost elaborated in different ways depending on the occurrences. If the first track, "Alterazione", leverages dull and sometimes shocking noises, the following "Smarrimento" is marked for half by a cold rhythm that fills the silence, until the arrival of a noisy, full and compact triumph that fills every space. Closer to the products of the 80s, at least in the assembly, is "Avversione", where broken samples follow one another or materialize to create a soft and uniform vortex: without a doubt the most successful moment of the album. The endless "Estraniazione" is a hymn to silence, broken by small fragments of noise that increase and disappear, until a long final sound line of analog matrix. The latter also continues in the conclusive "Alienato", enriched by disturbing and insistent frequencies from which a shocking violin motif emerges. "Alienation" fits perfectly into Maurizio's new course, and Rocchetti's important contribution ends up giving less ambient and more experimental nuances compared to the recent releases of the Milanese author. The retro veins, present both in some sounds and in the assembly, positively amplify the final result. Fans of the sector will be able to consider themselves satisfied."
