LP version. Steve Noble: drums and percussion. Stephen O'Malley: guitars and amplifiers. Stephen O'Malley (cult-guitarist of SUNN O)))KTL) teams up with one of the leading UK drummers of the avant-garde scene, Steve Noble, to build hypnotic sound-sculptures and drones.

Whilst others still plough stylistically dead fields, these two are forging something vital and coolly life-affirming in Peacemaker Assembly, with Noble’s dextrous, diffused percussions picking out a pointillist cosmos of unquantifiable rhythm and meter across the infinitely tarry black swirl of O’Malley’s subharmonic bass retch and drone.

Thinking about it, the formula sounds rather simple on the screen, yet we can hardly name any other duo who have nailed that paradox of loosely sprawling yet attuned playing quite like the results on show here, and especially with such tactility of tone and depth of space from a stripped down set-up. Yeah yeah, this is a bewt.
