*300 copies limited edition* Since their 2025 debut, the band has toured extensively, delivering their no boundaries sound making to jazz festivals and underground clubs alike. Recorded during a residency in Poitiers, France, the album finds the group searching for reason in today’s global hellscape. As the caption to the 1799 Goya etching from which the band takes its name states, "imagination abandoned by reason produces impossible monsters; united with her, she is the mother of the arts and source of their wonders". This credo informs the group’s rituals of resistance, eight tracks created through a democratic process of collective musicking. Expanding on the band’s ecstatic communion of free jazz, techno, noise and punk, Reason ventures into cyber-noir atmospherics, shimmering electroacoustics, dreamy psychedelia and gnarly hip-hop.

Willfully blurring the lines between live instrumentation and electronics, TSORPM leave the listener wondering just who is playing what. In “Pale Blue Dot”, Mette Rasmussen weaves smoky trails of alto saxophone around fractured turntable sax loopings - a technique pioneered by Mariam Rezaei - making the past and present fold in on themselves. Behind them, Lukas Koenig (drums/electronics) and Gabriele Mitelli (piccolo trumpet/modular synth) build a polyrhythmic architecture of thrashing drums and growling basslines. Bold gambits abound, from the deconstructed breakbeats and squalling horns of “Serendipity” to the woozy melodies and tense electronic pulses of “Time + Time = Time.” Vocals are also in the mix, with Mitelli delivering Italo-punk rants and cosmic invocations, and the whole band’s spoken word skratched into live breakbeats on “WFU?” Uniting reason and imagination, this is liberatory future music.
