Ahead of their 30th anniversary next year, Supersilent returns with a classic gatefold double album, 15 tracks and 64 minutes of new music. Their 15th album - and their first album since 2018. A colossal piece of music - outside of space and time.
Formed in Norway in 1997, Supersilent have never changed their method: no rehearsals, no written material, no discussion beforehand. Every record is cut from long improvised sessions and then simply numbered, starting from the triple set 1-3 on Rune Grammofon. At the core are Arve Henriksen on trumpet and voice, Ståle Storløkken on keyboards and synthesizers, and Helge Sten, better known as Deathprod, on electronics and what he calls audio virus: a sound that moves between free jazz, drone, electroacoustic music and outright noise, and that has made them one of the most singular groups to come out of the Scandinavian scene.
After eight years without a new record, 15 is their longest statement in a while: fifteen tracks spread over four sides, just over an hour of music, released as the group approaches its thirtieth year.
