Rare UK edition with non-textured gimmick sleeve of the spectacular second double album from 1971, simply essential and on the NWW list.

Non-textured gimmick sleeve with single pocket and fold over opening flap.

By Tago Mago, Can had swapped one vocalist for another: the Japanese street singer Damo Suzuki, recruited from a Munich pavement and onstage with them the same evening. Spread over two records and taped in a rented castle at Nörvenich, the 1971 album is the group at full extension. The first disc keeps a foothold in song with Mushroom and Oh Yeah; the second lets go entirely, into the eighteen-minute locked groove of Halleluhwah and the tape-spliced murk of Aumgn and Peking O. United Artists put it out, and everyone since, post-punk Britain and the Chicago underground included, has treated it as a source text.

Few records argue this persuasively that repetition can be a form of freedom.
