*2022 stock.* Carl Ludwig Hübsch: "On this CD I would like to present a small selection of works written especially for the Multiple Joy[ce] Orchestra, which were composed between 2009 and 2019.
The Multiple Joy[ce] Orchestra emerged as a successor project to the James Choice Orchestra, which four musicians and composers from Cologne founded in 2004 to realise complex notations and concept improvisations in equal measure. All participants are respected soloists on their instruments and familiar with both written contemporary and improvised music. They represent some of the most creative minds in the Cologne music scene.
The aim of the ensemble, led by Frank Gratkowski, Matthias Schubert and Carl Ludwig Hübsch, is to work across musical genres, scenes and generations to create an ensemble with a unique profile.
profile. The music of the Multiple Joy[ce] Orchestra not only appeals to an audience of the improvising music and jazz scene, but is also aimed equally at audiences of new music and open-minded listeners of classical music.
By bringing together different generations of musicians, such as those from the Cologne Musikhochschule, and by working with established protagonists of the music scene, the orchestra is constantly renewing itself."
