Yamato yo towa ni (1980), the third feature, and the second volume of its soundtrack: Hiroshi Miyagawa at his most symphonic, with a new theme for the Dark Nebula Empire, more of the requiem material and a score that occasionally sounds like a Japanese Vaughan Williams. By this stage the Yamato albums were selling in numbers that made Nippon Columbia rethink what anime music could be.
