The complete and essential discography of one of the most uncompromising and intellectually rigorous bands to emerge from the Canterbury scene - finally available again in pristine Japanese mini-LP sleeve editions with remasters on high-quality SHM-CD!

Fred Frith and Tim Hodgkinson formed Henry Cow while students at Cambridge University in 1968, and what followed was a decade of radical, politically charged, absolutely brilliant music that drew equally from free improvisation, contemporary classical composition, and progressive rock - without ever compromising to commercial pressure. Signed to Virgin Records, they recorded at Manor Studios and delivered some of the most demanding and rewarding music of the era.

This box collects all five studio albums:

  • Leg End (1973) - The debut. Intellectual, avant-garde, and impossibly tight. Includes 4 bonus tracks from the 40th Anniversary Box Set.
  • Unrest (1974) - Darker, more fragmented, pushing further into the unknown.
  • In Praise of Learning (1975) - The collaboration with Slapp Happy that produced some of their most accessible yet still challenging work.
  • Concerts (1976) - 2CD live document capturing the band at their peak, with Robert Wyatt guesting and Matching Mole covers thrown in for Canterbury completists!
  • Western Culture (1979) - The final studio statement. Composed, precise, devastating.

All titles feature original artwork reproduced in mini-LP gatefold sleeves, Japanese liner notes and lyrics translations, and bonus tracks throughout. This is THE definitive Henry Cow collection - music that remains as radical and essential today as it was 50 years ago.

For fans of Art Bears, Slapp Happy, Fred Frith, This Heat, Univers Zero, and anyone who believes that rock music can be art without apology.
