Gatefold sleeve.
The September 1961 Copenhagen material gathered across two LPs in Prestige's classic twofer series: Eric Dolphy in Europe, stretching out at concert length with Danish accompanists and delivering some of the most exposed, generous playing of his life - the solo bass clarinet "God Bless the Child" at the center, plus flute features of astonishing delicacy and alto flights that show the whole instrumental arsenal working at travelling-inspiration pitch. The twofer format suits this music perfectly: room to hear Dolphy think across a full evening rather than a studio clock, the ideas developing and cross-referencing from set to set. Prestige's seventies double-LP series did honest, generous work returning material like this to circulation with proper documentation, and countless collections were built on those gatefolds. One of the essential live documents in the discography, in the economical package that shares it best.
US Prestige pressing, and a lot of miraculous music per euro - the twofer promise, honored completely.
