1982 LP on Max Schubel’s Opus One label with four contemporary compositions respectively for alto saxophone and timpani, clarinets solo, alto sax solo and piano and tape.
condition (record/cover): NM / EX-
An Opus One compilation bringing together Nancy Laird Chance, Lee Hyla, Ann McMillan, and James Lauth. Hyla, who appears here early in his career, would go on to become one of the more distinctive American composers of his generation - his music absorbing rock and jazz energies into a modernist concert language with unusual fluency. McMillan's electroacoustic work places this compilation in the orbit of American tape music. A document of the Opus One project at its most heterogeneous.
