This boxset is a complete documentation of the legendary festival of the "Geniale Dilletanten" movement, which took place on September 4th, 1981 in the Tempodrom in Berlin. This edition consists of a CD + DVD and a T-Shirt, and the reverse of the box shows it to be an edition of 999. The CD and the DVD are fixed in a 32-page 12" sized booklet which includes information about the festival. Some copies also include an empty LP sleeve.

The DVD contains an unreleased video with recordings from the festival and a slide show with pictures of hundreds of record and tape covers. The CD tracks 31 and 32 are not on the DVD. The CD contains the audiotrack of the video. These recordings are mono only.

For the first time, the festival featured noise bands, experimental rock bands and artist groups from West Berlin that emerged from punk and post-punk, who wanted to set themselves apart from the classical rock music scene on the one hand and the sterility of classical new music on the other. Among the musicians were also many visual artists who wanted to counter the dominance of realism at the time - both in Berlin East as socialist realism, and in Berlin West as critical realism, later wild neo-expressive painting - with something different. Also featuring DIN A Testbild, Einstürzende Neubauten, Sprung Aus Den Wolken, Die Tödliche Doris, Frieder Butzmann, Sentimentale Jugend and many more.
