First vinyl edition of Last Exit's 1989 live recordings from Stockholm and Munich, with Brötzmann, Sharrock, Laswell and Shannon Jackson.
Last Exit were Peter Brötzmann on reeds, Sonny Sharrock on guitar, Bill Laswell on bass and Ronald Shannon Jackson on drums: four players who turned free jazz, blues and noise into one of the loudest and most physical bands of the late 1980s. Headfirst Into the Flames collects concerts recorded in Stockholm and Munich in 1989.
The album first came out on CD in 1993 on MuWorks. Cien Fuegos now issues it on vinyl for the first time, remastered by Martin Siewert in 2025. All the titles are quotations from The Journal of Albion Moonlight by Kenneth Patchen.
