Highsmith is Ikue Mori and Craig Taborn, two of the most in-demand and creative musicians in the Downtown scene. Their first CD was issued in 2017, and for their tenth anniversary they return with three of their most illustrious colleagues for another beautiful CD of wild and mysterious improvisational explorations. Highsmith Plus is just that - the duo expanded into three different trios with the aid of Bill Frisell, Tomeka Reid, and John Zorn, with a few quintet tracks added as a bonus! This is modern improvisation at it's virtuosic best - as surprising as it is inevitable.
