This group represented a specific generation of post-war Dutch avant-garde composers. They gained prominence through the "Opus" recording series produced by Radio Nederland, which showcased modern Dutch music to an international audience. Ton de Kruyf (1937–2012): Known for serialist and lyrical works such as Pour faire le portrait d'un oiseau. Joep Straesser (1934–2004): A student of Ton de Leeuw, he combined experimental innovation with musical intuition in works like 22 Pages. Rob du Bois (1934–2013): A composer, pianist, and jurist whose music often explored humorous and avant-garde elements. Wil Eisma (b. 1929): A violinist and composer who integrated electronic music with instrumental performance.
