*300 copies limited edition* SOL OP is based on a collective composition for unconventional pipe organs made by the three Danish composers and musicians Jonas Olesen, Anders Lauge Meldgaard and Sandra Boss. On three mobile, midified and modified pipe organs, the trio has constructed a musical universe inhabited by animals, humans and machines. SOL OP is based upon an exploration of the organs' more alternative sonic features. Incorporating the full instrument in the compositions – including the airblower system and the mechanical artefacts of the organ – new rhythmic features appears. Furthermore, MIDI-control and alternative playing techniques have been used in combination in order to present surprising timbres and tonal structures.

With this collective composition, the trio's goal has been to explore an iconic instrument, such as the organ, within a new and free frame. As the organs are small and mobile, they have been detached from the church room, and thereby also from their traditional cultural connotations, which has created a new creative space for composition. The sound universe presented on SOL OP consists of a world of voices departing from such different creatues as animals, birds, humans and machines. All meet up on in a sonic universe that cannot be firmly categorized, as the compositions exist between genres such as sound art, experimantal music, free impro and classical performance.
