Violinist Carlos Zíngaro, violist Ernesto Rodrigues and cellist Guilherme Rodrigues come together on 'Pataphysique, a new album of free improvisation that places close listening and adventurous sound-making at its heart.

Across six pieces—“I” through “VI”—the trio explores the expressive range of its string instruments, shaping an open-ended musical conversation in real time. Rather than follow a fixed path, the music unfolds through shifts in texture, gesture and intensity, inviting listeners into a world where each sound can spark an unexpected response.

Recorded by Ernesto Rodrigues at Cosmos on December 27, 2025, 'Pataphysique captures the immediacy of three musicians working in deep, responsive dialogue. Zíngaro performs on violin, Ernesto Rodrigues on viola, and Guilherme Rodrigues on cello. The album is produced by Ernesto Rodrigues, with mastering and graphic design by Carlos Santos and artwork by Carlos Zíngaro.
