Released by Creative Sources Recordings, Livingry captures a vivid live encounter between Lawrence Casserley, Dominic Lash, Massimo Magee and Phillip Marks. Recorded at London’s Hundred Years Gallery on 4 October 2025, the album brings together Casserley’s Signal Processing Instrument, Lash’s double bass and electric guitar, Magee’s alto saxophone and clarinet, and Marks’s percussion in a set of six freely improvised pieces. 

Across just over an hour, the quartet shapes music that feels alive to every shift in texture and energy. Acoustic sounds meet real-time electronic transformation; resonant bass and percussion rub against the saxophone and clarinet’s changing colors, creating a richly detailed conversation with room for both momentum and stillness. Rather than following a fixed script, the musicians listen, respond and reshape the music as it unfolds.

The six tracks—“Livingry,” “Twoth Livingry,” “Foreshocks,” “The Keening,” “Fleetfoot” and “Parallax Scroll”—offer different windows into the quartet’s shared exploration. The result is an album of alert, open-ended improvisation: exploratory without losing its sense of connection, and full of the unexpected turns that make live performance so compelling.
