Ferreyra, Argentine-born, studied with Pierre Schaeffer and became one of electroacoustic music's essential figures.

Cohen-Solal's "Shadoks" takes its name from the absurdist animated series for which he composed music, French television's answer to nothing in particular, surrealism broadcast into living rooms. Reibel's Variations En Étoile (star-shaped variations) and Cantón's contribution complete a picture of GRM activity circa 1970: some composers working for mass media, others pursuing pure research, all sharing studio resources.

Ferreyra's Médisances (slanders, gossip) reveals the wit that her more austere colleagues sometimes lacked. She understood that musique concrète needn't be solemn, that recorded sound could carry humor as easily as gravitas. Philips's prestige series granted visibility to work that might otherwise have remained trapped in specialist catalogs.
