Two works by Pierre Boulez from the years after Le marteau sans maître. The second book of Structures for two pianos (1956 to 1961) loosens the rigid serial grid of the first book. Here it is played by Charlotte Zelka and Kate Wittlich.

Improvisation II sur Mallarmé (1957) sets the sonnet Une dentelle s'abolit for soprano and nine instruments, harp, piano, celesta, bells and percussion, and later became part of Pli selon pli. Valarie Lamoree sings, Joel Thome conducts. Issued in 1969 as volume 99 of the Fratelli Fabbri series La Musica Moderna, with texts by Antoine Goléa.
