1965 French LP of post-serialist orchestral and vocal music performed by the BBC Orchestra and Chorus conducted by Pierre Boulez and Antal Dorati.

condition (record/cover): NM / VG (sticker removal residue on front + general wear)

Three French scores with a common taste for colour. Charles Koechlin wrote Les Bandar-log in 1939 and 1940 as part of his Jungle Book cycle: Kipling's monkeys chatter in parodies of whole-tone, neoclassical and twelve-tone writing, a satire on fashions in composition. Olivier Messiaen's Chronochromie (1960) alternates strophes and antistrophes built from birdsong of many countries, ending in the famous section for eighteen solo strings.

Both are conducted by Antal Dorati with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Between them, Pierre Boulez conducts his own Le Soleil des eaux on poems by René Char, with Josephine Nendick, Barry McDaniel, Louis Devos and the BBC Symphony Chorus. French pressing on La Voix de son Maître, with a twelve-page booklet.
