Recorded in one session on 24 February 1980 at Sound 80 Studios in Minneapolis (the audiophile facility where Bob Dylan cut Blood on the Tracks five years earlier). The third of Curran's 1970s solo statements, the one in which the Serge modular synthesizer takes centre stage. The Italian Fore label, based in Rome, pressed it in small numbers.
Same compositional logic as Fiori Chiari, discrete events end to end with no thematic development, but the palette has shifted toward synthesizer-plus-field. The Serge (built by Serge Tcherepnin at Cal Arts as a cheaper alternative to the Moog and Buchla) gives a colder, more circuit-driven sound than the VCS3 Curran used in Rome. Voice arrives as murmured or sung melodic line, embedded rather than narrating.
