Cookin' with the Miles Davis Quintet
“Few bands in the history of jazz have reached the heights achieved by this group... The entire LP is fantastic. I cannot imagine being without it.” – Ralph J. Gleeson. These words perfectly capture the enduring power of Cookin’ with the Miles Davis Quintet, a landmark recording by one of the greatest ensembles ever to shape the history of jazz. In the mid-1950s, the quintet brought together Miles Davis on trumpet, John Coltrane on tenor saxophone, Red Garland on piano, Paul Chambers on double b…
Music By Earle Brown
Originally released by CRI in 1974 and now reissued on vinyl for the first time by Death Is Not The End, Music by Earle Brown is a concise overview of the composer's landmark early experiments with graphic notation, open form structures and magnetic tape.
Synthesized Voices
DINTE reissues Charles Dodge’s 1976 LP collection of synthesised speech music, 1972-1975. Using mainframe computers at Bell Telephone Laboratories, Dodge analysed and dismantled audio recordings of surrealist poetry by Mark Strand, mathematically and meticulously reconstructing them in synthetic form, resulting in these uncanny, landmark pieces that spearheaded early computer speech synthesis as a form for musical composition.
Ancient Future
Ancient Future is a stop on an ongoing quest of sample creation, manipulation, recombination, and morphological transformation through the modular synthesizer. Densely interconnected sound matter moves between islands of respite in a sea of incomprehensibility, grasping but not yet arriving. The ancient future is a place. It is the meeting point between the light piercing through the dark, fragmented state of our present reality. This album is an attempt to materialize this place in sonic form.
The Current Above - Immersion Seven
The Current Above - Immersion Seven embraces the sonic senses within a beautifully expansive 76-minute steady-state zone. Designed for infinite low-volume playback, the album’s sole track “The Current Above” continues the evolution of the long-form immersion series of intimate ambient recordings Steve began in the late-90s. The caress of slowly-unfolding cascades of shimmering textures and diaphanous atmospherics makes for the ideal soundworld for one’s habitat. It’s a delicate and nurturing env…
Edge Conditions
'Edge Conditions' is the new album by Chicago born and raised, longtime Los Angeles based composer, synthesist, and multi-media artist Jeremiah Chiu.
Mighty Vertebrate
After many supporting appearances on IARC across the years (including Makaya McCraven's Universal Beings in 2018, Daniel Villareal's Panamá 77 in 2022 and Lados B in 2023, Bex Burch's There is only love and fear also in 2023, and earlier this Summer as a core member of SML on Small Medium Large) we could not be more ecstatic to announce our first lead artist release with Anna Butterss!!! The Adelaide, Australia-born bassist and composer "has built their career around unshakable rhythm, blinding …
In Electric Time
*Alt cover art edition* On June 29th, 2023, Jeremiah Chiu walked into the Vintage Synthesizer Museum (VSM) in Highland Park, Los Angeles, with no plan more specific than “let’s fire this stuff up and see what happens.” Exploring the VSM’s vast collection of classic, rare and staple synthesizers, he would sequence, trigger, and layer the machines together with help from VSM founder/curator Lance Hill. Hill recalls: "Jeremiah arrived before the engineer showed up. We talked for maybe 5 minutes bef…
The Closest Thing to Silence
In August 2022 the Australia-based, French born new age musician and electronic music composer Ariel Kalma was invited to participate in BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction series of special collaborations. The program pairs artists who have not previously worked together to create new music cooperatively. Kalma was quick to suggest working with two musicians whom he had never met – International Anthem recording artists Jeremiah Chiu & Marta Sofia Honer, whose critically-acclaimed duo debut Recordings …

Replicant Memories
*2026 stock. 200 copies limited edition* There is no way I can formulate in words how deeply the music of Brock Van Wey has impacted my life. It started with envy. I was a confused young man, living with a friend who I looked up to a lot, and we were DJ-ing together (only vinyls of course). My friend bought a copy of one of the first ever bvdub releases to come out, and he was in love with it. I had been trying to get my music released for years with no success, and here was this guy with vinyl …

Dinosaurs With Horns
Rick Potts and Joseph Hammer met at a Halloween party in 1982. At the time, Joseph was making tape loops and recording with Points of Friction, while Rick already had many years of freakdom service under his belt with the LAFMS. They began collaborating on new recordings, with Joseph providing loops and Rick playing an Optigan borrowed from Joseph. The Optigan, made by a toy manufacturer for home use, is a primitive 1970s sampler that plays prerecorded discs ranging from exotica, pipe organ and …
Play Drums
*2026 stock* Following 'Passenger' (tsss tapes, 2023), Ted Byrnes & Jeph Jerman Play Drums is a further exploration of percussive collaboration. Recorded in much the same way (iterative file exchange), Play Drums is quite literal in its title. It is entirely acoustic, with both participants playing a conventional drum set, albeit *all* parts of it. The recording is dedicated to Tim Barnes, close friend and constant source of inspiration to both Ted and Jeph.
Music Is Invisible (Pentimento Volume Three)
The third part in Jon Hassell’s Pentimento trilogy captures the much-missed artist performing as part of a trio with Rick Cox and John von Seggern in London in 2015, in what would turn out to be his final ever concert. Carefully edited and mixed by Jeff Rona into something much more than a traditional ‘live album’; themes, motifs and riffs from his critically adored albums Listening To Pictures and Seeing Through Sound occur throughout these unique, semi-improvised mutations, making this a fitti…
Lesson No. 1
After cutting his teeth in the late '70s No Wave scene with bands Theoretical Girls and The Static, Glenn Branca made his first solo statement, Lesson No. 1, in 1980. The inaugural release on legendary post-punk / dance label 99 Records, Lesson No. 1 unveils Branca's visionary guitar concepts with two monstrous, side-long compositions that helped forge NYC's downtown art-punk sound and acted as a massive influence on countless young groups, including Sonic Youth and Swans. The title track is eas…

Sweet Love, Bitter
On Sweet Love, Bitter, Mal Waldron turns a fictional portrait of Charlie Parker’s final years into a darkly luminous suite of cinematic jazz. His lyricism, tension and blues‑stained restraint guide a formidable 1967 ensemble through music that moves beyond soundtrack function, making New York feel bruised, nocturnal and fiercely alive.
