Limited to 70 hand-numbered copies ** Hailing from different corners of the experimental music world and following 2018’s acclaimed performance at Centro d’Arte in Padova and a plethora of solo releases, Alessandra Novaga and Stefano Pilia return to discography with their very first studio collaboration. Recorded in 2017, "Glimpses of a Day" comprises a series of nine compositions for electric guitar that explore the infrequent properties of the instrument and convey a feeling of tranquility and artistic completeness, accompanied by the excellent collage artworks by the actress and theater director Elena Russo Arman.

Inspired by Jonas Mekas' restless spirit, Alessandra Novaga and Stefano Pilia delve into music, languages, aesthethics and worlds seeking the ideas and meaning behind them, and merge fragments of sounds and glimpses of time, making their own poetry of "little bits", while exploring the multidimensional occurrences in the environment they create. As it's commonly written, the soundscape is a journey on the thin line between composition and improvisation, but rarely it is so exquisitely undeniable as in "Glimpses of a Day"· It is more than a coarse dialogue between two improvisationists, and certainly much more than a presentation of a composition that has a "plan" behind an improvisational facade. Here, Alessandra Novaga and Stefano Pilia interact in a completely equal and complementary manner: one is the other's ears and one is the other's hands. As the music advances, it spontaneously abandons the form it seemed to have acquired so far, but little by little, angles get blunter, the guitar playing more sensitive, and reaching a climax, the created atmosphere becomes significantly more coherent and fragile, leading the listener to abstract glimpses of a dreamscape, which is not too far from a poetic and nostalgic view of everyday life or at least an everyday life lived by documenting only the things we love.

"Sometimes the fragments contain all that there is" - Jonas Mekas
