Label: Folkways Records

Format: LP

Genre: Experimental

Out of stock

Fourth and last, and possibly best volume of Folkways's "New American Music" series released in 1975, presenting six superb experimental electronic compositions from the 1970's, most of which available only here.

condition (record/cover): NM / EX- (minimal wear)

The fourth volume of the Folkways survey: Gordon Mumma, Ann McMillan, Vladimir Ussachevsky, Joel Chadabe, Noa Ain. Mumma and Ussachevsky are the most prominent figures - the former the sound artist and electronics pioneer associated with the Cunningham Company; the latter one of the founders of the Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center, whose tape compositions from the 1950s were among the earliest in the American tradition. A cross-section of the American electronic and experimental scene in its institutional maturity.
