Nord

First ever official reissue after 36 years! Remastered and expanded edition, it remains one of the holy grails of DIY electronics from Japan. Hazy and drugged, this entrancing 1981 recording by the infamous Nord is a must-have for anyone who is into claustrophobic and destroyed ambient of the most disturbing, affecting kind.
"Nord, consisting of Satoshi Katayama and Hiroshi Oikawa, were one of the leading groups in the Japanese underground music scene of the 1980s. The group's two members now perform separately, both of them using the Nord moniker. This is the first CD reissue of their debut LP, originally released on the always stellar and hyper collectible Pinakotheca Records in 1981 when they were still performing as a duo. This reissue includes a disk of bonus material recorded around the same time as the LP. The bonus material includes four previously unreleased studio live takes recorded on April 29, 1982, and a complete version (18:49) of their live set at Shinjuku Loft on August 24, 1981 (part of the live set was previously issued on the "Live Materials" cassette on Vanilla Records). A rare glimpse of Katayama and Oikawa as a duo! Limited edition of 300. All tracks newly remastered by Anders Peterson in 2016." Label press
