*200 copies limited edition* French musician Bruno Duplant, who uses both analog and digital instruments in his performances, has produced a succession of excellent solo and collaborative works and released many recordings on numerous labels including Ftarri. Pierre Gerard is a Belgian improviser and composer. Like Duplant, he makes wide-ranging and skillful use of various instruments, including guitar, piano and electronics, and has presented many works on Ftarri and other improvised/experimental music labels in countries around the world.
This album was born of a collaboration between these two busy and energetic musicians. It contains 11 tracks (between 2 and 6 minutes each) created with the artistic movement "supports/surfaces" as inspiration. Gerard played mainly guitar (as well as voice and electronics), and Duplant used electroacoustic devices. Amid the flow of quiet electronic sound, the guitar produces short sounds in a calm and straightforward way. There's an exquisitely restrained musical sensibility in this outstanding recording.
