John Cage's works for speaking percussionist on Blu-ray, with Bonnie Whiting in 51'15.657" and other pieces and Allen Otte in his own Cage-related piece, plus a 73-minute video interview about Cage and the works.

This volume of the Cage edition gathers works for a speaking percussionist, with percussionist Bonnie Whiting at the centre. The longest piece is 51’15.657” for a speaking percussionist, in a realization by Whiting, joined by A Flower, The Wonderful Widow of Eighteen Springs and Music for Two (By One), also in Whiting’s realization.

The programme also includes a work by Allen Otte, Connecting Egypt to Madison through Columbus Ohio, Cage, and the History of the American Labor Movement, in his own realization, with Otte on voice, prepared piano and percussion.

The Blu-ray presents the full video of every work, with PCM audio, and adds a 73-minute video interview in which Whiting and Otte discuss Cage, his processes, the works and how they assembled them.
