Willem Breuker helped found the Instant Composers Pool in 1967 and started his own Kollektief in 1974. Fifteen years on, he recorded most of this disc at Studio 44 in Monster between January and April 1989, and issued it on his label BVHaast; the title suite takes up eleven of its fifteen tracks.

Breuker plays soprano, alto and tenor saxophone in a big band whose credits list four trombonists, Bernard Hunnekink, Chris Abelen, Garrett List and Gregg Moore, alongside Boy Raaymakers and Andy Altenfelder on trumpet, André Goudbeek, Peter Barkema and Maarten van Norden on reeds, Henk de Jonge on piano, Arjen Gorter on bass and Rob Verdurmen on percussion. Two older tracks close the disc, Driebergen-Zeist from 1983 and Hap Sap (But Not From Jaffa) from 1984, and P.T.T. is named after the Dutch postal service.
