Schnitzler’s Zug is one of the most important and first electronic minimalist works that were published in the 70s. Almost simultaneously with Kraftwerk’s groundbreaking “Autobahn” Zug appeared on the legendary “the red cassette“. The release is rounded off with a remix of Con-Fan Stefan Betke aka Pole. Pole and Kassian Troyer (Radian) have mastered the record. Another remix is contributed by “borngräber and strüver“.

The blind Kansas native showcases his talent for the minimal & avant-garde here, w/ compositions driven by percussion & Japanese-inspired melodies, complimented by street sounds, recitations, & animal noises. Bizarre even for today's standards, it's a wonder this was released over a half-century ago.

I started making music in earnest in 1994 with a Casio keyboard and a four-track cassette recorder. Since 1996 I have been using a Korg MS10 analogue synthesiser and some effects pedals which I have added over time Ñ delays, phasers, a ring modulator and a pattern generator.
