Wilfried Hiller, a percussionist by training and close to Carl Orff in Munich, wrote An diesem heutigen Tage in 1974 as a monodrama for actress and percussion on Mary Stuart. Its closing section takes her motto, En ma fin est mon commencement, as title, and other sections take up her letters and her flight.
Elizabet Woska speaks the role against the drums and percussion of Karl Peinkofer, Peter Weiner, Andreas Vonderthann and Rik Demeuricy. Recorded on 18 and 19 February 1979 at the Munich Hochschule für Musik and issued by Wergo the same year, its only edition.
