This bundle brings together New Light and Incantations, the two sets that Sunny Murray, Arthur Doyle and Rasul Siddik played at Thelonious in Bordeaux on October 21st, 1999, never released before and now issued by NoBusiness Records. Murray is on drums, Doyle on tenor saxophone, flute and voice, Siddik on trumpet.

New Light opens with a long trio improvisation and goes on with Doyle's African Express, Don Cherry's Complete Communion and a closing piece whose title is unknown. Incantations has three unidentified tunes, a second trio improvisation and Doyle's Goverey, played mostly on flute over Murray's sparse drums.

All three had settled in France by the late 1990s. Doyle and Murray later released two albums as a duo, and Murray and Siddik played in a quartet with Christian Brazier and Sophie Agnel, but the trio had never been documented on record. The concert was produced by Philippe Alen for Musique OuVertE and recorded by Antoine Martin, remastered by Arūnas Zujus at MAMAstudios, with design by Jeff DiPerna.
