The Globe Unity Orchestra at ten years old, recorded in Baden-Baden in November 1975 with Braxton, Rava, Wheeler, Brötzmann, Parker, Mangelsdorff and Lovens: five pieces from inside the orchestra, nearly all unreleased until this CD.

Recorded over three days in November 1975 at the Südwestfunk studios in Baden-Baden, during the New Jazz Meeting that celebrated ten years of the Globe Unity Orchestra. The sixteen-piece line-up gathers Enrico Rava, Manfred Schoof and Kenny Wheeler on trumpets, Anthony Braxton, Peter Brötzmann, Rüdiger Carl, Gerd Dudek, Evan Parker and Michel Pilz on reeds, Günter Christmann, Albert Mangelsdorff and Paul Rutherford on trombones, Alexander von Schlippenbach on piano, Peter Kowald and Buschi Niebergall on double bass and Paul Lovens on drums.

The five pieces were written inside the orchestra: Rava's Marañao, Braxton's U-487, Kowald's Jahrmarkt and two works by Schlippenbach, Hanebüchen and The Forge. Jahrmarkt had first appeared on an LP by Po Torch; the rest of the session is issued here for the first time.

CD edition published by FMP in 2010 as one of the twelve discs of the FMP in Retrospect box, also issued separately, with a booklet of liner notes by G. Fritze Margull, Alexander von Schlippenbach with Rüdiger Carl, and Martin Speicher.
