The trio of Irène Schweizer on piano, Rüdiger Carl on alto and tenor saxophone, clarinet and piccolo, and Louis Moholo on drums. Messer and Come-on Bert were recorded live at the New Jazz Festival in Moers on 19 May 1975, Göndsi mitenand and Conn-Conn at the FMP studio in Berlin that December: these four pieces made up the LP Messer.
Tuned Boots, almost twenty minutes long, was recorded at the Steirischer Herbst in Graz on 17 November 1977 and filled side A of the LP of the same name.
New CD edition from the master tapes, published by FMP in 2010 as one of the twelve discs of the FMP in Retrospect box, also issued separately, with a booklet of liner notes by Ulrich Kurth.
