Silver Bullet in the Autumn of Your Years is the second CP Unit album on Clean Feed, recorded at Seizures Palace in Brooklyn on May 28 and November 6, 2017. Chris Pitsiokos plays alto saxophone, wind controller, sampler and analog synthesizer, with Sam Lisabeth on guitar throughout and two rhythm sections: Henry Fraser and Connor Baker on bass and drums for six tracks, Tim Dahl and Jason Nazary for the other four.
Pitsiokos stays rooted in the melodic language of Charlie Parker and Ornette Coleman while drawing on Coleman's harmolodics, on noise and on the timbral research of Stockhausen. Composed pieces such as Once Upon a Time Called Now, Orelius, Positional Play and The Tower alternate with numbered improvisations.
Mixed and mastered by Philip White. Artwork by anna ekros.
Gatefold CD on Clean Feed.
