1971 7th volume on BBC's "Sound Effects" series with field recordings of Aircraft Taking and Landing, Helicopter, Weather, Crowds, Water, Steam, Diesel and Electric Trains, Bangs And Crashes, Traffic Atmospheres.

condition (record/cover): NM / EX+

The seventh volume of the BBC Records sound effects series and the first in stereo: the previous six were mono, and the sleeve note announces that nothing here duplicates them. Doors, footsteps, traffic, weather, crowds, machinery, each band separated by a few seconds of silence for the amateur dramatics society or the film student with a razor blade. The BBC effects library was the world's largest and its LP series ran to more than thirty volumes; No. 13, Death and Horror, famously charted.

This one is the straight stuff, the raw material of radio drama, and the stereo placement is precise enough to be used as a demonstration disc. Half blue, half white BBC label, UK pressing.
