2024 Stock. 300 copies limited edition. Japan release only. ** “It all started in 1979 when the punk scene was in full bloom and we, the youthful dilletants believed that changing the world included a hit on a cooking pot, some weird strumming of a distorted acoustic guitar or screaming from the top of the lungs. We were anti Art, but Dadaists, hated politics but were political, anti-pretty but extremely vain, anti-Rock and anti-conformist.” This is how Jürgen Schweighart describes the beginnings of his solo career as V2 Schneider (named after David Bowie's song from the cult album Heroes), which began after the short-lived band Blindgänger disbanded in the early 1980s and temporarily ended a few years later after the release of several cassette productions. Already in the early 2000s, the early works experienced a first revival and re-release on vinyl, Schweighart returned to his musical beginnings and has since released six new albums on his own.
Over 40 years after V2 Schneider's first releases, Suezan Studio will release a complete retrospective of the works from the 1980s on April 8, 2023 in the form of a cardboard box limited to just 300 copies that opens like a chocolate box with no fewer than 66 songs on 3 CDs. A 24-page booklet is also included. All songs have been carefully digitally restored and remastered for this release.
At the same time, V2 Schneider's old-new album "Blasphemy" will be released with 15 songs compiled by Jürgen Schweighart for the exclusive Japanese release as well as - exclusively with us and in the Japanese Suezan mail order - the bonus CD "Fragments" with 28 additional mixes and demo songs from over the years 1981-1984!
