The three bird dreams return to the avian figure, but transfigured beyond recognition. This is no longer the recorded bird of Jean-Claude Roché's field recordings or the evoked bird of Olivier Messiaen's piano pieces: it's a dreamed bird, a creature existing only in the electroacoustic medium. Bayle constructs imaginary aviaries populated by species no biologist will ever catalog.
