"Play it very loud," says the sleeve, and "this is all improvised music." The four Austrians of Call Boys Inc., Wolfgang Mitterer, Klaus Dickbauer, Gunter Schneider and Günther Selichar, share one long list of instruments: saxophones, flutes, zither, concertina, guitars, banjo, melodica, turntables, tapes, a rack of samplers and effects units, plus a typewriter, gardening tools and kitchenware.
The LP holds two takes, Take A and Take B, of about twenty minutes each, from a digital live recording at Studio Spinnerei in Bad Vöslau in May 1988. It is free improvisation with electronics at the centre rather than the edges, and it came out that year on Moers Music, the label of the Moers festival. Mitterer went on to become one of Austria's best-known composers for organ and electronics.
