He plays from standard Jazz to Freeform Improvisation by his original drum sounds and now he put the focus on this unit called Tryangle. Also bassist Nobuyoshi Ino played with Masayuki Takayanagi and Yamazaki from 60 era. Tryangle is the unsettled unit that drummer Yamazaki and bassist Ino invite unique guest musician. Root
*2023 stock* Japanese prog. irregular time signature drum master, Tatsuya Yoshida and crazy beautiful jazz pianist, Dairo Suga met and improvised first time at the venue “7th Floor”, Tokyo on 2021. This CD is the all recorded memorable live performance then. The duo playing has a passion, a sense of speed, number of voices and mugginess ! Yoshida uses brushes ( unbelievable ! ) and singing by falsetto voice, and Suga send out a prog-rock-like phrase. They are getting closer to each other but don…
HMT
*2023 stock* "A critical point of explosive hardcore improv! A relentless mass of sound! The long-awaited first album of this hardcore trio, which has been steadily increasing its fan base by always running at full speed and radiating sound to the limits of their physical and mental strength, has finally made its debut! This group was formed based on Hirose's concept of packing condensed sounds to the limit, and there are no gaps between sounds, no interplay, and no formulaic improvisational ele…
Organ Candy
Soft as Snow is a Norwegian avant-pop duo based in Berlin. Their music effortlessly straddles the structure and determinism of club and “pop” music and the abstract expressionism of experimental music. Crackling, pixelated synth lines, drum machines, and pleading, introspective vocals coalesce to form a unified sound world – one in which our digital existence precedes and overshadows our physical bodies. “Organ Candy” is a sonic articulation of this conflict. Following recent releases “Bit Rot” …
The Water Of Life
*75 copies limited edition* "The Water of Life" is something I started a long time ago, originally as part of a 2015 series that John Flannelly put together called "Mellow Monday" where artists performed long form sets right in Monument Circle, Indianapolis. People were invited to collaborate, although only one curious child actually did (as is often the case). It was initially supposed to be, and still is, a Dune concept album. Although once they announced the new version of Dune, I mentally sh…
Yarrow Canon
*150 copies limited edition* "Most of the music I am attracted to represents some kind of undoing. Sun Ra's undoing of the big band, or of the jazz solo. Schoenberg, Berg, and Webern's undoing of the classical music concert. The A.A.C.M.'s undoing of the jazz combo and the club date. Pauline Oliveros' undoing of the musical score. Alice Coltrane, Don Cherry, and Cornelius Cardew's various undoings of the profession. What's more, none of these undoings are antagonistic or destructive. The thing u…
All The Duos
Tip! Orb Tapes presents “All The Duos,” a brand new collection of collaborative pieces featuring Maria Chavez and Sandy Ewen. A colossal effort, this double CD release contains over 90 minutes of music and showcases the improvisational prowess of both artists. Taking their instruments past the point of recognizability, each has a knack for coaxing unpredictable yet beautiful sounds from her equipment – turntables and guitars treated in utterly novel ways. Now based in Brooklyn, Chavez and Ewen h…
Eric Dolphy At The Five Spot To Iron Man (Revisited)
"Eric Dolphy’s legacy is well represented by these performances from The Five Spot and the sessions supervised by Alan Douglas. They confirm him to be an artist who  straddled the divide then so deep in jazz, drawing sustenance from the music’s past  as he cleared a path to its future. Dolphy’s was a sensibility that could celebrate  Fats Waller and honor Jomo Kenyatta, its inclusiveness rare in the polarized early  1960s. Fortunately, his example has not simply endured, but has become more  res…
Sologuitar 1
*50 copies limited edition* "This is a set of solo guitar pieces recorded over the course of a few weeks that are sometimes percussive, sometimes droney, sometimes noisy and sometimes nothing. I have recently rediscovered my love for playing the guitar and I used these recordings to work out some sort of live solo guitar set, so there is very little post production and everything is a little gritty as a result. I like a lot of the sounds found in recording this and if you listen I hope you do as…

Caverns of the Yogi
An ancient relic of chthonic music. Meditative ds, for a spiritual journey into the dungeon of your soul. "One of the manifestations of the absolute is that in sound form. Audible sounds are divided into three levels: in the first you can hear the sound of thunder, or a waterfall, or ocean waves; in the second the sound of a drum or a bell; in the third of a small bell, or a flute or even the buzzing of a bee. The yogi must overcome these levels by using those sounds to stop the wandering of his…
Flying To The Sky
*2023 stock* Collaboration between Japanese pianist Takehiro Honda and German saxophonist Gerd Dudek. Recorded March 1, 1971
The Impossible Dream
Delve into the groovy sounds of a Japanese harp jazz trio led by Tadao Hayashi. Similar to Dorothy Ashby's small combo records, the trio, with Takao Kusagaya on bass and Koichi Suzaki on drums, maintains a lean approach. Hayashi's harp work, given ample space, weaves mesmerizing note combinations with a gentle groove, especially enhanced by skillful bass. Familiar tunes take on a fresh perspective, resonating strongly in this recording.
Sabu - Message To Chicago
*2023 stock* A wonderful recording by Japanese first generation free improvisers Sabu Toyozumi, Syoji Ukaji and Ryoh Hara.
Evolution
*2024 stock* "This release Shintaro Quintet’s private press release ‘Evolution’. It’s another well-chosen release that comes with superb packaging, high sound quality and some interesting sleeve notes which give a fascinating in-depth insight into the music and the musicians in Japan within the specified time period. Recorded in New York, the one-off recording by bassist Shintaro Nakamura and his quintet features the brilliant trumpeter Shunzo Ohno, who has played on many of the quintessential J…
East Plants
*2023 stock* "A genuine ‘under the radar’ album known only to a handful of Japanese jazz collectors, ‘East Plants’ is now available once more, reissued as CD and digital formats. Originally released in 1983 on the Japanese VAP label, ‘East Plants’ is an essential album in the J Jazz canon. It’s an album that distils several key characteristics of Moriyama’s music: clearly articulated and inventive rhythms, open yet orderly arrangements, and an accessible groove balanced with a graceful control. …
Rainbow Revisited
I travelled to Los Angeles and the USA for the first time in 2019. Although I had not met Carlos Niño in person, we connected via Instagram where he saw a video of me playing a piano motif (titled ‘The One’ in this sequence) that he really liked and expressed a wish to record. This was around 2017. We tried a few times to get me over to Los Angeles, but the timing was always off. Through a performance organised by a creative collective called The Nonsemble at The Ford Theatre we finally got the…
